@OldDick, JoAnn29 gave you a concise answer, but if you simply are wondering what will happen because you already are on a Medicare plan, however the Open Enrollment ending date passed and you didn’t declare what specific plan you want for 2025, that is okay…if you are already on a plan and like it, you do not need to declare your intention to keep the plan for 2025. You will simply continue with your existing plan.

If you have additional questions, Medicare’s toll free phone number is apparently answered 24 hours per day (excepting certain holidays):
 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227)
or the TTY number 1-877-486-2048

If you are new to Medicare, no need to wait till opened enrollment. If your already collecting Social Security, you will get your Medicare card automatically at 65. If you are not collecting SS but are 65, then you contact Medicare and sign up. Open enrollment is for people who want to make changes to their existing Medicare coverage or supplimental. I suggest if this is the first time for Medicare, contact your Office of Aging. They can help you understand what is out there for you.

I recommend talking to a specialist. There are so many changes this year and likely every year to come in the relatively near future. Even if you didn’t miss open enrollment. The details and changes can be cumbersome for anyone, much less seniors, to maneuver. Simply keeping what you have because you liked it this year is not a good plan of action because what it offered this year will likely change next year.
